Roster freeze.

Rosters must be complete and uploaded in GotSport by the roster freeze on June 1, 2027 at 5:00 p.m. PT. After that, rosters are locked in GotSport and no changes can be made. Documents will be verified no later than June 4, 2027.

  • No write-in players are allowed. Players who are not on the match report may not play.
  • You get generous roster limits to allow for contingencies. If a player’s eligibility is disputed, the players approved in GotSport before the roster freeze are final.
  • On game day, if a team has more players than its game day roster allows, the extra players must be lined out and removed on every copy of the match report.
  • Can’t add your players in GotSport? Check with your club registrar that you have the right permissions.
No check-in at the fields

Online check-in.

Online check-in works just like in-person check-in, done online. Tournament staff review every roster, match the players entered in GotSport to the player cards you upload, and accept your players. Each team is checked individually, so allow staff time to verify everything. Once players are accepted, add them to your event roster and enter every jersey number.

  1. Make sure your players are in GotSport.
  2. Make two PDFs: your tournament roster (a Word document saved as PDF, or a GotSport export) and all your player cards. Don’t mix governing bodies: no SoCal cards with USSSA cards, or GA cards with USSSA or US Club cards.
  3. Upload both PDFs to your team documents in GotSport.
At the field

Game day.

Check in with the referee

All teams check in with the referees at the field; there is no check-in at the facility. Finding the referee before the match is the team manager’s job, so don’t make the referee come find you. Head to the center circle as soon as the previous game ends. Games start on time: a team that is not checked in has 10 minutes of running game clock to finish checking in, or it forfeits. Referees check each team against the match report for the maximum roster size and for written-in players (none are allowed, so don’t ask).

Event giveaways

Pick up your event giveaways at any time at the Field Marshal tent at:

  • San Juan Sports Park
  • Jim Johnson Sports Park
  • Forster Ranch Sports Park
  • Rancho Capistrano / Saddleback Church (Saturday only)
  • Vista Hermosa Sports Park

Before the match

  1. Both teams must have player and coach pass cards for the referee to check them in, where required. Virtual or printed cards are both fine.
  2. Both teams give the referee 3 copies of the match report before each game. Match reports can be printed before game day.
  3. The home team is listed first on the match report and wears light or white; the away team wears dark and changes if colors clash.
  4. The home team brings three game balls for the referee to inspect before kickoff.

Finals: if a team can’t print a new match report, a copy from a previous game showing the players is accepted.

Field setup

  • Each team’s spectators sit across from their team, on the same side of the midline as their team tent.
  • Spectators sit opposite the assistant referee’s sideline, never behind the assistant referee, behind the goals or by the corner flags.
  • Spectators don’t mix with the other team’s spectators. Coaches are responsible for their team’s spectators.
  • Benches and canopies are not provided, so bring your own.
  • Parking is free at most venues; check the Venues page for exceptions.
  • No dogs, alcohol or drugs at any venue.

After the match

  1. Both teams sign all 3 copies of the match report. Each team keeps one; the referee keeps the master copy.
  2. Both teams collect their player and coach cards from the referee, if needed.
  3. Both teams must report the score, red cards and head injuries in GotSport right after the game. Use the QR code on the match report, or report your score here.
  4. Red cards must be reported in GotSport right after the game and emailed to tournamentdirector.cfa@gmail.com with a copy of the match report (a photo is fine). A player sent off in the first game of the day sits out the second game that day, or the team’s next match of the weekend.
  5. Disputes are handled by the referee at the field when they happen, and only the head coach may speak with the referee.

Special provisions

Recreational teams.

Recreational teams without player cards need an official roster from their organizing body, with player photos and birth dates. Upload it to both the roster and player card sections of your team documents. Without a photo roster, be ready to prove identity and birth date at the event if asked.

The Aliso Cup is sanctioned by US Club Soccer, so every recreational player also needs the #R002 form. Upload it to your team documents in GotSport and bring hard copies to the event. Players must still be on the printed match report to play.
